About Addie Romelfanger

I am twenty-one and live on a small farm in the Bay Area. I like finding new hobbies and have taken on learning crochet and knitting along with doll customizing and 3D printing. Between my hobbies and classes I am an avid baker and have been baking my way through Dessert Person, by Claire Saffitz. I love baking cakes and pastries, and tend to stay away from savory items. While baking and doing pretty much everything else, I tend to be listening to music ranging from BTS to Skillet. I like hearing all the different emotions from all the different genres of songs I listen to. (Maybe not all at the same time, but that's why they're organized into playlists.) My pets love interrupting my baking adventures to say hi or beg for food. I have three cats and a dog who all love attention. We like to make the joke that we live on a wildlife sanctuary, in some ways it's true between the pets and the hawks and owls who have settled on the property. My goal is to graduate with a Studio Art Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in physics or math.

I create art because I like the process of creating art and learning how to create new types of art. My art is almost entirely drawn from the stories and shows that I enjoy the most. Bringing to life the characters and their emotions allows me to feel like I understand the stories they are from a little better. I like experimenting with seamlessly mixing together different mediums because of the challenge of mixing them and the different effects the mediums provide.

Art is the product of knowing/learning a craft and having a design in mind; this can be dancing, playing an instrument, baking, writing, painting, and so on and so forth.

Craft is the ability, skill and/or technique learned to create something. It's the process of actually making something.

Design is the planning, and the refinement of an item or art piece. Along with that it’s the thought about its function and the desired aesthetic of the item and what you want it to convey.

Creativity can lead to numerous different approaches and uses for something as simple as a paperclip while knowledge says that a paperclip is supposed to do its one job of being a paperclip.
